French DGSE and DGSI build interception centre in Senegal

According to well-informed French newsletter Intelligence Online, the Directorate-General for External Security (DGSE) and the General Directorate for Internal Security (DGSI) are supporting their counterparts in Senegal both to develop their interception capacities and to train technicians and analysts.

DGSE and DGSI are also building an interception centre in Senegal.

The interception centre will be equipped with interception materiel provided by French Electronic firm Thales’ cyber-defence department.

The DGSI will send an expert to the Senegalese interior ministry to advise the local police.

Relations between the French and local intelligence officials in Senegal could be helped by the presence of the French ambassador Christophe Bigot, a former chief of strategy department of the DGSE.
