Brazilian Intelligence travelled to France To Exchange Information on Terrorism


Special team of the Brazilian Intelligence Agency (ABIN) travelled to France to exchange information with the country's authorities on terrorism.

According Brazilian website G1 the General Coordinator for the Intelligence Area for the Rio Olympics 2016 Saulo Moura said "we evaluated our intelligence assessment with French delegation".

The General Coordinator of the Games’ Public Security, Cristiano Barbosa Sampaio, said "Brazil is on yellow alert" but "we can move up to orange or red, if any specific threat is identified".

On July 16, Security Forces conducted an exercise to confront at the Deodoro Sports Complex station that simulates a possible terrorist attack with a bomb blast and to verify if Security Teams are prepared to act in extreme cases.

The Deodoro Sports Complex will host about 11 Olympic sports: horseback riding, mountain biking, BMX cycling, modern pentathlon, shooting sports, slalom canoeing, field hockey, rugby, and basketball.

The station is the final stop for those who will watch the games at the site. In all, 47,000 security force agents will act at the Olympics in Rio.

On July 15, 200 members of the Air Force and Navy based in Roraima, Amazonas, and Paratroops landed in the Galeao Air Base to work on the Olympics security scheme.

Brazilian President Michel Temer said that Brazil is "highly prepared" to face terrorist threats during the Rio Olympics 2016.

French Intelligence didn't share information on ISIL plan to attack Rio Olympics 2016


"French Intelligence didn't share any information with Brazilian Intelligence about a plan by ISIL to attack the French delegation to the Rio Olympics 2016 in Rio de Janeiro next month", Wilson Trezza, Director General of the Brazilian Intelligence Agency (ABIN), said.

According to Brazilian Daily Newspaper Folha de Sao Paulo Wilson Trezza intends to speak to representatives of the French Intelligence who he said were present in Brazil.

Last week French Intelligence disclosed it has information about a plot by Brazilian member of ISIL to target the French delegation to the Rio Olympics 2016.


Director of the Brazilian Intelligence Agency (ABIN) said they were receiving intelligence cooperation from countries around the world, including French Intelligence.

Brazilian Intelligence and Police have prepared a major security operation to head off threats and attacks against the Rio Olympics 2016 but they have no knowledge of a specific threat to the games so far.

Rio Olympics 2016 Alert on Syrian Terrorist Trying to Fly Brazil

(July 4, 2016) - Officers from Avianca Airline office at the Campo Grande Airport received a communique from the Brazilian Federal Police this week to alert about the possibility for a Syrian terrorist trying to fly on board an Avainca jetliner.

According brazilian newspaper Correio do Estado jihadist Ahmed Deyab, 45 years old, is trying to reach Brazil for the main event of Rio Olympics 2016.

Ahmed Deyab had refugee status in Uruguay and his whereabouts have not been known since last 6 on june.

It has been reported that he already attempted to enter Brazil legally, but failed and that may have succeeded in a second attempt through Rio Grande do Sul State.
